My Wedding. Minus my Dad.

As every girl does, I assumed my father would be walking me down the aisle on my wedding day until I was so rudely awakened by how evil and swift cancer can be. It not only took my father from me it also robbed me of the special moment when a father gets to give his little girl away. I struggled with what to do. I didn’t want to walk alone or for people to think that he was easily replaced. I looked through wedding magazines, etiquette books and online for ideas but found nothing. Lucky for me my brother is an amazing man and he swept in and saved the day. I am still very grateful to him for making my wedding day special while honoring my father every step of the way.

This was 6 months ago and I still think about it often. So, when I came across this article last week I thought where the heck was this when I needed it! Check it out. It has some really thoughtful ideas on how to keep your loved one involved in your special day even if they aren’t here.
