I don't know about you, but I was never "cool" as a kid. I wasn't a geek or a freak either. I pretty much fit in wherever I went yet never stood out. I set no trends. Made no waves. But according to new research from the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA), my moment in the sun may have finally come, courtesy of my 12-year-old daughter.
In an article published in MediaPost today, RAMA reports that Tween moms are:
- More likely than average adults to use Facebook
- More likely to read blogs
- More likely to use our cell phones to go online and do research
- More likely to listen to top 40 music
- More influenced by coupons for groceries and apparel than any other media
I'm not sure that last one makes me "cool", but it does mean I can afford to buy my daughter clothes on occasion that make her feel cool. I'll take that halo affect any day!
