Both of my boys have grown so much this summer that we've had to buy everything from socks and undies to new p.j.'s, sneakers and shirts/shorts for school. I've found some awesome items that meet my picky boys taste, yes boys can be picky about what they wear, too, and thought I would share some of my finds.
Cool T's: The Vans collection can be found at both JcPenney and Kohl's. My nine year old finds their t-shirts the coolest and the fit seems true to size. So if it says is a boys size 8 Medium, then yep it's a boys size 8 Medium. Both stores have their own respective clothing lines that are also great price wise, but still cool for little boys and big boys alike. Don't have time to head to the store, both websites offer great shipping deals at little or no cost.
Socks and Underwear: They are a necessary evil, but I swear these are the items I am constantly buying! Gap Kids offers great prints or solids, long lasting and durable. My tough and rowdy boys don't seem to wear these out so much as outgrow them first. But always a good fit at waist and around legs. Nobody like underwear that creeps in your crack! Also have boxer shorts available, which we use as sleepwear.
My oldest son is short and stocky, my youngest is tall and lean -- my best bet for finding pants that fit has been mostly at Target. They offer a variety of pants with the adjustable waist feature and I've been able to get cargo shorts/pants, dressier versions with just the plain straight leg and basic pockets and blue jeans in so many styles it makes my head spin. And my youngest loves their novelty t's -- he picked out an X-men, Star Wars, Lego Star Wars and a "Conserve Water Drink chocolate milk" t-shirt.
Another great place for finding pants for my boys, I've had awesome luck with Lands' End clothing. The knees don't wear out, many styles including outdoor gear, swimwear and we also buy our backpacks and lunch boxes from them. The have really sectioned out their back packs for age ranges and uses -- love their backpacks!
Would love to hear your finds and great back to school shopping tips. Do you shop online or hit the stores in stride?
