Several years ago, redesigning my life to reflect my talents became my preoccupation and my mantra. I had settled into a job and
a life that ultimately didn't really feel like me. I wanted to
live up to my potential, not just move through a succession of
whatever jobs were available. I made a commitment to return to school and explore and develop my talents. Now, armed with a newly minted Communication degree, I'm re-entering the work force in a recession and as a slightly older worker. (I've been dubbed a "second careerist." ) My reinvention took longer and was more challenging than I anticipated, but I'm on my way! So I'm interested in how we cope
when our goals prove more complicated or require more sacrifice than we
ever expected. It's important to stay motivated when the going gets
tough and stays tough. Where do we find inspiration? Everyone has their little bag of motivational
tricks....what's in yours?
