I am 50 years old, truly I hate to even say it. I don't feel it. I have been married for almost 29 years. I have four children. I love to read, dance, laugh, and work. I thrive on energy from my job, my family and my friends. I have great faith that God has a plan and that ultimately it will all be good. I look for His guidance constantly in my life. I expect great things but I struggle a bit balancing it all.

• One out of colllege...

  ...and into law school. My oldest son starts law school this fall. I can not believe it. I still remember him as a two year old starting a 3 day pre-school. He was smart then and he is smart now. It is really comforting to see your child become an adult and begin to make career decisions. But wow, I feel old.

• Hectic Times

  Thanks to my sweet children for overlooking the fact that your mom has been crazed with work and commitments lately. You guys are the best and no matter how challenging my life, you keep me grounded and sane. Love to you all.

• Fourth of July & the Hover Craft

  I will never forget this July 4th. We spent it at my husband's family home, Tucahoe Farm, in TN. For the first time ever, we let my 10 year old son pick out fireworks instead of going to a fireworks event. With great care and supervison, we gathered in the dark to ignite a number of small fireworks and watch them explode together without a crowd. Faces were illuminated as sparks lit the night. My 10 year old had picked one firework in particular, it hovered then flew off...but he forgot what it did so as it hovered he was surprised and backed up even further falling over the bucket of water we had on hand if needed. He laughed the hardest because he had expected to surprise us. It was the most low key 4th celebration we've had but probably the best. We live in a great country, one where family is celebrated and embraced.
