Adding music to workouts motivates people to exercise, and studies show it also improves coordination and reduces fatigue. Creating an iTunes playlist is one option, and music services such as Tangerine!, Jog.fm and Mixmeister can set up programs that match beats per minute to a workout.
“Music goes great with a workout ,” said personal trainer Shawn Mitchell, who works with clients at Matrix Gym on Leeman Ferry Road and a variety of other locations. “I can't really do it without music. It pushes you and motivates you. You can actually forget you're working out when a song comes on that you like.”
