This week we decided to focus much of our discussion on the topic of finance. When searching for an ad campaign to review, our community manger Karen was absolutely baffled that a lengthy search turned up nothing--not even from Prudential whose research is featured in our Hot Topic discussion. I mentioned a Women & Co print ad I'd seen in Redbook. When she went searching for it, she could only find it on the ad agency's website who created it. She finally found it buried somewhere on Citi's own site.
Add to this an article in the Wall Street Journal about the decline of women in careers on Wall Street and the filing of a discrimination lawsuit against Goldman Sachs and I'd say we've got a hot topic for Jane's to talk about.
We are making more money, managing more money and are set to inherit or oversee more wealth in the world than men and yet few financial services firms employ us at the highest ranks nor reflect our needs in their products, services or marketing efforts. Why is that? Join us in our Facebook discussion tomorrow (Tuesday) between 11 - Noon EST and share your thoughts.
