Abby Rike may have just started her quest to win this season's "Biggest Loser" title, but she has already proved to the world that she is the "biggest winner" for simply choosing to "be here." 

You see Abby lost her husband and two children in a head-on car crash3 years ago.  And every day since she has had to will herself to get out of bed and face the day.  Food became her closest companion...the one thing she could always turn to no matter what.  But on the anniversary of her devastating loss she realized that her life was not being lived in a way that was honoring to her family or herself.  She determined in her heart to change.

And so the journey begins.  It will be fun and inspirational to watch her overcome the demons that have robbed her of peace and joy and health these past few years.  And no matter where she finishes on the show, to me and many others striving to live a healthy lifestyle despite overwhelming odds against us, she is already a winner. 

I love what she says about her goal in an Entertainment Tonight interview, "way more importantly than fitting in those (size 10)  jeans is feeling healthy and good in those jeans."  Great advice for all of us.

Remember, no matter what your circumstance, it is your choice to be victorious in it.  What are you doing to win your personal battles today?  Whatever it is, be courageous and you will win!
