While taking his scheduled rest break, a soldier in Iraq awoke to find his regiment being attacked.  Without hesitation he arose from his sleep, grabbed his gun, jacket and helmet and went to serve along side them.  He didn't stop to put on his pants.  The photo of him standing guard with his fellow soldiers wearing pink boxers is one that has captivated the world.  Ironically, he bought the boxers while on a layover in New York on his way to serve overseas.  His mom couldn't have been prouder that her advice to never leave the house without his undershorts was heeded.  More importantly, she is relieved that he is safe and coming home now for a visit.

To all of you have served in the armed forces, are serving or are related to someone who is serving or has served, I salute your courage and your commitment to serve without question or wavering a country who often stands divided over issues and incidents that pale in comparison to your sacrifice.  God bless you today, and every day.  And God bless the USA.
