With people living longer and the economy getting weaker, women find themselves pressed from all sides. "I feel like a parfait with many layers of responsibility," said a young woman in Cincinnati.
Increasingly, women are taking responsibility for the care of ailing grandparents and parents in addition to their children and in some cases grandchildren.
"On any given day I may be in the market for baby diapers as well as adult ones and everything in between," said another woman in her mid-fifties. "I want quality and value, and will try anything if you give me a coupon."
