Divorce.  Break-up.  Maturing teen.  Each of these life stage changes affected one of the young professional women we met with in Charlotte.  And while the circumstances were different, the one common element was a desire to redefine themselves in some way.

“It’s so easy to let other people define you,” said one woman.  “I finally have all the time and all the options but I don’t know where to start.” 

Redefinition started with taking classes in different types of dance for a couple of the women.  Books were a source of information and inspiration for another. 

Friends are an important part of the process, but making time for them isn’t easy.  Finding friends who can relate to your changing life stage can also be a challenge—but worth the effort.  The key is for woman to be supportive of one another as they change and evolve.  “We need to be happy for each other and celebrate one another.”
